Introducing a new cocoon sleep sack design “Sunflower.”
I wanted to add to my line of sleep sacks or cocoons (as I prefer to call them) for sale. So I went with a flower since it is summer. I also think a rose would be beautiful and would make one as a custom order. In the past, I have done ladybugs, dogs, ice cream and others. Let me know what you think of the design. I think these make great baby shower gifts because they are different and one of a kind.
The beautiful reborn doll was done by Jenni Sholter. I call her Sarah. She is 3 to 6 month size. Most of the cocoons I make are preemie and newborn but I thought she deserved something to sleep in.
I have finally moved and am able to really focus on Nadine Creates now that life has settled down. These last couple of months have allowed me to figure out what I really like doing crochet wise. I find I enjoy making custom items. So now I will be concentrating on giving people a selection of items to chose from and then color and size choices. I had a quick turn around in the past and think it will be even faster in the future since I have a dedicated craft room now! Plus more time since I cut down on my secular work hours so I could be home with my husband more.
I have also decided to limit my sales to Facebook and direct email instead of Etsy. I love Etsy but little shops like mine get lost with the new guidelines Etsy has. I will have an album on my Facebook page so you can see what I have made in the past. I am also always open to suggestions and request. Some of my best sales have come from customers sending me a picture and asking me if I can make it! I hope everyone likes my changes and if you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments. I read everyone.
I have put a few pictures of my work below but if someone really wants to see it they could just look at some former posts or go to Jenni Sholter’s Facebook page

I am taking my crochet to a new level next weekend. I am participating in
I have decided to expand my crochet business and this is one way that I haven’t tried before. I will have all sorts of baby cocoons, caps, blankets and whatever comes off my hook this week. The cocoons are original ideas that Jenni came up with. There will be things in a variety of sizes. I want to see what catches people eyes.
I will share a spot with Jenni Sholter and her reborn dolls. They are fabulous and I have found working with another artist is inspiring.
How about you? Have you tried anything like this before? Let me know how it worked for you. What would you have changed?
If I have been a little quiet lately, maybe showing what has been on my hook will explain why. I have been working with Jenni Sholter owner of Heart 2 Heart Reborn Nursery on some cocoons and Blanki-paci designs for reborn dolls, preemies and newborns. It has been a blast working with someone who has such wonderful ideas. I can’t wait to see what we come up with this week. Check back at her facebook page regularly as that is where the designs are posted first! We are also very interested in what you would like to see offered so either tell me in the comments section or send Jenni a private message through her facebook page. We are taking custom orders now.
I finally finished the dress and decided to share it as a PDF. I added some pictures where I thought it might be a little hard to visualize. I had a wonderful tester and tweaked it some. It has several versions and ideas in the pattern. It will fit a preemie and small baby if made as is. I made it in both Caron’s Simply soft Light and Caron’s Simply Soft. My tester made it in Pound of Love. All the patterns made up quickly, used less than a skein of yarn and got rave reviews by people who saw the dress.
Fairy dress I would really appreciate hearing from people who download it. I tried to figure out how to make it where a person had to follow me to get the pattern but couldn’t.
This has been a productive weekend for me finally. I made a couple of crochet dog shirts for a coworker. I hope they fit her tiny dog and she loves them. If so, she will take pictures and I will share them with you.
However, what I am most excited about is the dress I designed. I am hoping to get some testers of the pattern. If you are interested please send me an email. I would like the pattern done in a variety of yarns. This dress was made from Caron’s Simply Soft Light and a size I hook. It fits a preemie which is why it has ties in the back. My friend who has a preemie grandchild said they prefer ties to buttons.
All I ask is that if you do test it, you respect that it is my pattern and not sale it.
Here is two more versions of it. This one was made with Pound of Love and H hook. It was made by a tester and I really appreciate it.
I love waking up to check my email and find custom preemie requests. That happened this weekend, one person wanted
and another one wanted
They will go out bright and early Monday morning. But I decided to celebrate my 2 sales by buying something from Urban Cheesecraft, an Etsy store that I had favorited.
Doesn’t this look fun?! I like knowing what is in my food and this would certainly do it. I can’t wait! I will do a review when I get and use it to tell you what I think of the store and product. I have an idea it will be rave reviews!
