I have finally moved and am able to really focus on Nadine Creates now that life has settled down. These last couple of months have allowed me to figure out what I really like doing crochet wise. I find I enjoy making custom items. So now I will be concentrating on giving people a selection of items to chose from and then color and size choices. I had a quick turn around in the past and think it will be even faster in the future since I have a dedicated craft room now! Plus more time since I cut down on my secular work hours so I could be home with my husband more.
I have also decided to limit my sales to Facebook and direct email instead of Etsy. I love Etsy but little shops like mine get lost with the new guidelines Etsy has. I will have an album on my Facebook page so you can see what I have made in the past. I am also always open to suggestions and request. Some of my best sales have come from customers sending me a picture and asking me if I can make it! I hope everyone likes my changes and if you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments. I read everyone.
I have put a few pictures of my work below but if someone really wants to see it they could just look at some former posts or go to Jenni Sholter’s Facebook page

I thought I would share this Etsy Features by Raine Dae Creations. She writes about a different shop every other Monday. This is good because it introduces you to shops you might not have gone to before. I joined the mailing list so I wouldn’t miss any and I recommend it to others.
I love waking up to check my email and find custom preemie requests. That happened this weekend, one person wanted
and another one wanted
They will go out bright and early Monday morning. But I decided to celebrate my 2 sales by buying something from Urban Cheesecraft, an Etsy store that I had favorited.
Doesn’t this look fun?! I like knowing what is in my food and this would certainly do it. I can’t wait! I will do a review when I get and use it to tell you what I think of the store and product. I have an idea it will be rave reviews!
I have read all the formulas for pricing my work but wasn’t comfortable with doing it. This calculator allowed me to put in the cost of my materials, how long it took to make the item and my skill level. Then you choose the amount of profit you want and it gives you a suggested selling price. Fabulous.I really wish I could have clipped a picture of it but I couldn’t. Every crafter needs this tool. The calculator is free to use, easy to put a shortcut for, and extremely easy to use.
Do you ever do a search and then realize later you couldn’t remember where you found what you were looking for? I used to do it all the time. It seemed I couldn’t even find it when I looked through my history file.
So I decided to search smarter not harder. I found two tools that have made my life a lot easier. I mean I have a fulltime job plus am starting a business.
The first tool I love is . This is how they promote their site and I think it pretty much sums it up.
“Remember Everything- Evernote apps and products make modern life manageable, by letting you easily collect and find everything that matters.”
First, it is free, I can access it on any computer so I don’t have to use the same one, the learning curve is quick (always a plus) and easily customizable. You can put an clipper on your computer that makes it very easy to use. I use it to clip patterns I know I will be using. Plus I am using it to keep track of genealogy information I am collecting.
The other program I use daily is . To join Pinterest you must have an invitation. If you don’t know anyone using it send me a request. Pinterest is easy to use and free also. You set up boards and pin pictures that take you to the website where you found it. This is very handy because you can see what you are looking for which is very helpful to most people.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to reblog a post. I see a button for reblogging on some sites but not other. I also want to know if there is a way to put a button like that on a wordpress.com site like mine? I would love to give a person the opportunity to reblog a post since this seems like an easy way to spread your post and reach more people.
I am kind of going off topic but not really. I do swagbucks while crocheting. I know you can’t multitask but it helps me focus when doing a boring crochet part. I click a video in the watch section and have it going while counting my stitches. Then I turn around and turn the points into Walmart gift cards which I use to buy more yarn.
I wasn’t sure if it was worth it until I realized this week I had enough to get 4 hooks and 5 skeins of Simply Soft yarn.

I really wanted these but hate to spend money out of my budget.
I am also guilty of having my evernote account open when crocheting so I can write down ideas that seem to flow when doing boring work. Anybody else bad to multitask? How?
