Siren Elise Wilhelmsen is creating concepts and designs for products, furniture and installations – both for the professional and the private market. Her aim is to make functional and sustainable design with personality and humour; products that challenge the meeting between man and his surroundings and that offer a new kind of interaction with them.

In 2010 she created a piece that would make her famous: The Grandfather Knitting Klock. The clocks knit a singlestitch every half hour, and runs 24 hours a day. During one year, the clock is able to knit a 6 foot (2m) long tube scarf.

Joyful Linens

Joy from Joyful Linens sent me an Etsy conversation this morning. It was so nice to meet an crafter in North Carolina. I love making craft friends online. It makes me feel connected to a world of creativity. Thank you for reaching out to me Joy. I have probably been by her town when I lived in western North Carolina since we used to go mining in Franklin.

You have got to check her blog out. Her writing will take you to a  magical place. I hope she will put together a book of stories of farm life. I know I would love to read and own it. Also her linens are fabulous because of the way she plays with colors. You can feel the joy. Enjoy this wonderful person and her works. Bohemian Dreams Pillowcase Whimsical Aqua Orange Paisley

Making cheese

A couple of weeks ago I ordered a cheese DIY kit from Urban cheesecraft. I promised I would write a review as soon as I tried it. I just got through making my first batch. I decided to make Winter Solstice Honeyed Ricotta. It was easy, and delicious.

The only problem I had was I didn’t get it as creamy as I wanted. However, I think I will get better as I make a few more batches. This is an inexpensive way to try out cheese making. I recommend it.

“Gentlemen start your engines!”

I am ready to hear those words again. Last year I started a pool in pooltracker and competed again my husband who really gets into Nascar. I used internet and he used gut to pick winners. Internet won big time.

In anticipation of  2014 Sprint Cup season started I wanted to share the custom cocoons I offer in my shop. I love to do custom orders so if you have a favorite driver, team or sport just contact me and see if we can make it! Ravellenic Games 2014 Blanket

I finished my first project of the Ravellenic Games. I had to make changes in the blanket because the person this baby blanket is going to is a Duke Blue Devils alumni. They have decided to not find out whether they are having a boy or girl. I wasn’t sure what to make until a friend of theirs said make a blanket in Duke colors and they will be thrilled.

They were going to get it today but school has been cancelled again due to snow and ice coming in. Now to get started on my next Ravellenic project which I could really use, a pair of socks.

Create Crochet Patterns: A Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners ebook.

Recently I joined a face book group to get better at posting. This was such a success that I decided to join up for the Create Crochet Patterns class. While the class is closed I highly recommend the book.
