Hope everyone is having a great holiday. This will be a short post as a “bug” seems to be going around or house. But I just had to share this dress I finished last night. It is for the teacher I work with. She is expecting a granddaughter in April and I thought this would be a nice surprise. I never have an excuse for making girl things so I jumped on this! I used the pattern I found by Lisa van Klaveren.
I made a few modifications but then what person doesn’t. But it is beautiful don’t you think? going to go. Still have 2 blankets and a cape I want to work on before I go down with the bug. Take care!
It is a hectic time of year for everyone including me. I got up last week to find 2 requests for the dragon scarfs on my Etsy shop. That was great! But one was a custom order for 6 different ones. I knew she wanted them ASAP and got right on it. So every spare minute was spent working on them. Then getting them off to her. I sure hopes she likes them. They turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. What do you think?
The other order was for a dragon scarf that had ended up going to a school auction and I forgot to take it off the Etsy site. So I had to remake it right quick!
Now I am working on a couple of baby blankets, baby dress and bonnet. Happy hooking everyone!
Things are better for me this week. The furnace is fixed, the weather is warmer (all the really cold weather went north of us) and I got a custom order in Etsy shop for a panda bear cap for a stuffed animal. My usual computer is still down or I would post a picture of it. However, it is the same as this one, just a little shorter.

I also went to the libray and got some books for inspiration. I fell in love with Drew Emborsky’s “All In Caps” book. I love to make caps since they are quick and easy. But this book had a stitch I had never heard of before, linked double crochet. It told how to do it but I am visual so I found a video of it being done here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boTGA70BqK8
I started on the Basketweave cap and made the band. But I loved the band so much I am not going to connect it to a cap. I just want it as a headband. Does that ever happen to you? You see something and decide to change it just a little bit to make it your own. I know! Of course it does!
Well, I am going to go. I have more hats requested for a homeless drive and need to get them done before school is out for the holidays so the peerson can get them delivered. Have a great week everyone!
I realized this week I hadn’t published a post lately. Between my computer crashing, furnace going out, freezing weather and general frustration I have neglected my crochet and blogging.
Nothing is coming off my hooks that is really inspiring me. However, I have made new dog caps and put them in the shop, started on a sweater for me, and made some scrap caps for charity. Funny how making the caps helps me to focus and feel better. I don’t stress if they are not a particular size or fancy, I just crochet and let it flow.
Here are some pictures of what has been on my hooks. Share what you are making.
